"Destigmatized" is an innovative Instagram TV docuseries that aims to transform America's perception of cannabis through personal storytelling. This ambitious project, conceived by Ricardo Baca, Founder & CEO of Grasslands, will feature over 120 episodes, each showcasing an individual's experience of how cannabis has positively impacted their life. The docuseries adopts a simple yet powerful format. Each episode features a short documentary focusing on one person's cannabis story. Interviewees come from diverse backgrounds, representing various walks of life. Ricardo Baca conducts the interviews, asking three key questions: How has cannabis improved your life? How has your relationship with cannabis changed since your first experience? And, "Complete this sentence: I consume cannabis to help me...". The primary objectives of "Destigmatized" are to move cannabis from legalization to normalization and eventually commercialization, to open up conversations about cannabis use and its benefits, and to continue the momentum that has led to significant drug policy shifts. "Destigmatized" has already shared numerous compelling narratives. These include a young woman using cannabis suppositories for severe period cramps, a Marine veteran treating combat injuries with edibles, and a yoga instructor managing chronic arthritis pain naturally through cannabis use. By showcasing these diverse experiences, "Destigmatized" aims to challenge stereotypes and broaden public understanding of cannabis use in America.
